Housing Price Trend Down in March!

As we move into spring we are starting to see more foot traffic at open houses and from potential buyers. Home prices declined further in March as economic conditions weigh on Calgary’s housing market. With no improvement in the labour market, it’s no surprise that we continue to face downward pressure on housing sales, activity and prices. Homebuyers continue to wait and see if there are going to be further declines in home prices before making an offer.

The detached benchmark price for March is $502,400 a decrease of 3.29% year-over-year. The apartment benchmark price is $281,300 a decrease of 4.93% and the attached benchmark price is $336,500 a decrease of 3.36%. Overall sales for the month totaled 1,588 units,
