The Housing Market is Pointing Towards Price Stability

Home sales in the City of Calgary are off to a slow start as buyers show continued caution.  The market is behaving as expected for the winter season. A lower number of sales is not uncommon for the month of January.  The number of sales is offset by the number of listings, ultimately pushing the housing market towards a balance market territory

The detached benchmark price for January is $395,000 an increase of 1.28% year-over-year.  The condominium benchmark price is $245,000 a decrease of 3.92%. Overall sales for the month totaled 1,078 units, compared with 1,086 during the same period last year.
